1804, December 25-26: Paris Woman’s Fiery Death
In 1813, François Emmanuel Fodéré made note of a case of possible spontaneous human combustion he had read of; the account had been written by a M. Vigne, and stated that a 68-year-old woman in Paris had burned on the night of December 25 to 26, 1804.
Not Enough Detail
Fodéré added a reference to where he found M. Vigne's account -- "méd. lég. p. 145" -- which I have yet to track down. Without this earlier source which (hopefully) has more details, there is just not enough in this brief account to even assume it happened. For this reason, I am marking this account as "Investigate" and "Unreliable," until I can get further information.
