2011, September 29: Dead Whale Found in Marsh
On September 29, 2011, the Daily Mail website reported that a 33 ft. long whale was found dead in a salt marsh near the town of Skeffling, in Yorkshire, England.

The young female had apparently been carried by an exceptionally high equinox tide to where it became stranded when the water receded, fully 800 yards from the normal shoreline and in the middle of a salt marsh near the town. Likely, the whale was just exploring for food, with no idea that the area was not normally underwater... and when the water receded, it became too shallow for the whale to follow.

It was an unusual situation so, not surprisingly, at least one person went on record stating they felt a UFO must have actually been responsible for the carcass' unusual location. Not much attention was paid to this claim, since the initial story also explained how the whale had gotten to where it was... and the story, after a few days in the limelight, quietly died away.

Still, with such an intriguing set of pictures... in 2015 the UFO story rose up again, and this time the author fabricated even more details. Follow the 'See Also' link below to find out more about that tale!
