Slender Man - Second Image, June 8, 2009
One of two recovered photographs from the Stirling City Library blaze. Notable for being taken the day which fourteen children vanished and for what is referred to as "The Slender Man". Deformities cited as film defects by officials. Fire at library occurred one week later. Actual photograph confiscated as evidence.

...went the 'backstory' to this image when first presented. This is the second image made of the Slender Man, one of two posted on the Something Awful forums on June 8, 2009, by user Victor Surge as part of a contest to manufacture fake 'paranormal' photographs. This and the first image are the starting point for all Slender Man legends that were fabricated later. This image in particular included a backstory that described the figure in the background as "the slender man," so is responsible for the name associated with this creation from then on.
