1897, July 16: Haycocks Seen Sucked Up and Scattered at Herefordshire, England

On Friday, July 16, 1897, shortly after noon, the haymakers in a meadow at Hampton Park, England, were surprised to see a number of haycocks (large mounds of hay) suddenly collected together and carried straight up into the air by a whirlwind. After its flight, the hay fell about a hundred yards away from it's starting point, and was scattered in all directions from there.
