1817, March: Herrings Rain Down in Argyllshire

In March, 1817, herrings around three inches in length fell in a shower near the ferry of Shien in Argyllshire, Scotland.

        Just so you know, the above comes from an issue of the Quarterly Journal of Agriculture from 1840, which then claims a newspaper article from 1830 as it's source. I will try to find an earlier reference.
