1995, November 19: The Ghost in the Fire [Patron Only]

The Wem Ghost Photo

On November 19, 1995, the town hall of Wem, in Shropshire, England, was completely gutted by a fire.

Many people gathered to watch the desperate effort to extinguish the flames, with Tony O'Rahilly among the crowd restricted to the sidewalks around from the building. Using a 200mm camera, he took several shots of the fire as he and the others watched.

On March 6, 1996, the Shropshire Star, news service local to Shropshire, England, released what appears to be the first public notice of a rather strange photo...

It's a photo with history: though now shown to be a fake, the "Wem Ghost" or "Fire Girl" photo held it's claim to fame for nineteen years... and exposed an actual haunting that hadn't been reported previously! Become a Patron to read the full article!
