Great Mysteries of History
by Kenneth B. Platnick, 1971 Harrow Books, 190 pages, index, limited bibliography with citations in text, photographs and illustrations.
Platnick does an admirable job of examining the history and evidence regarding sixteen different mysteries, ranging from historical events such as the dissappearance of Louis XVII of France to modern claims of the existence of the Yeti, hairy wildman of the Himalayas.
This range of topics means there should be something to catch everyone's interest. The book can be slow reading occasionally because of an almost overabundance of detail, but overall it's a good read and an informative source.
