Mysteries of the Unexplained
1982 Reader's Digest Association, Inc., 320 pgs., Bibliography, Index, Illustrated.
This volume is full of very brief accounts -- most are just a half-page or less -- of various mysteries and anomalies. The accounts are grouped together into a few large catagories, and the book has a lot of illustrations and pictures. It's designed for browsers... just pop it open and read a page or two at a time. It's entertaining reading, and on the plus side each account is accompanied by a citation of its source... something the Reader's Digest books don't normally give you.
It has large sections on the following topics: Prophecies, Historic Anomalies, Coincidences, Spontaneous Human Combustion, Inexplicable Crimes and Assaults, Appearances and Disappearances, Monsters, Ghosts, UFOs, Atmospheric and Astronomical Anomalies, Paranormal Cures and Immunities, and Signs and Wonders.
