1823 (pub): James MacGrigor and the Water Horse of Loch Ness

In 1823, William Grant Stewart recorded what is the only example of a tale of the Scottish monster known as a 'Water-Horse' that is directly associated to Loch Ness...the story of how James MacGrigor met and bested the diabolical steed, thus gaining a rare magical item that his family is in possesion of even today.

It's a wonderful tale, but it is simply not evidence for the existence of the supposed modern lake monster reported in the same lake. For more details on this legend, click on the link below!
